Re: A2 jeep for sale
Yes and no, that is an Acronym that has been adopted pretty late in the M-151's life. In service they were mostly known as jeeps or 1/4 tons or "the one five one". MUTT stands for Multipurpose Utility Tactical Truck. That was what the government called the series when they put out the specs. for the new vehicles. I never heard it used until the last 7-8 years.
Oh, By the way, G838 is also the military designation number for the M-151, That is where the name for the web site came from.

Rick
I just read your post on the Mutt. I grew up on an Army base and I heard them being called Mutts back in the 1970s.
Does any one know the location of this one?

Re: A2 jeep for sale
I had a M151 when I was in High School and that is what a lot of the soldiers on the base called it. I also had a CID (?) officer come over to the house as I was turned in by one of the hunters at the hunt club who saw me driving it. He thought it was stolen. The CID officer was very nice and checked the serial number and date, then said I had a one that was an early one that was released by the government.
