Any interest in the MK-1234 installation kit?

Post by Old Dodge Guy » Tue Oct 23, 2012 4:26 pm

I will also post this in radio and communication area. area. Is there any interest in the MK-1234 radio installation kits for the M151? I was working in the back of my quonset storage building today and found a bunch of the MK-1234 kits in the corner. If there is any interest, let me know and I will dig them out and check how complete they are and set prices. These are turn in kits dated Nov. 1986. They probably have been sitting there since the late 1980's! It looks like some used parts, some new, all dumped in boxes and turned in to DRMO. The paperwork states these kits are for the AN/VRC-46, AN/VRC-53 and AN/VRC- 64 for the M151. Let me know if there is any interest. Thanks.
Still crazy after all these years.

OK, it seems that there is an interest. I will have to sort out a bunch of stuff , might be a week or so. Everything is all jumbled together. I will have preliminary photos soon, then as I sort into individual kits we will see what I have. These are 99% used turn in stuff, with a few one of items, and a few NOS pieces, and some stuff I don't even recognize! They will have dust from storage. (after all, they probably have been there and not moved for 20 or more years!) Prices will be determined as I see what there is. They should be reasonable. Thank you for asking!

Here is information on the kits and what is included, and the price. http://s1192.beta.photobucket.com/user/ ... 20of%20kit" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

OK, it looks like I can put together about 12 kits fairly complete. The following will be included in the kits:
Mount MT 1029/VRC
support bracket for mount ……….Fender mounting bracket
corner mount assembly……………..Part on corner of M151
angle brace
Support Bracket for AT 1729/VRC (Sugar Scoop)
power cord CX 4720
RF cable CG1773/U
cable CX 4722/VRC
Misc. bolts, screws, hardware
At this time I do NOT have enough microphone M-80/GR and Headset H-140/GR for all 12 kits. I am still looking. Also not enough Tip assembly, (ball on end of antenna) for all 12, but again still looking. I will make up the kits with the best stuff first, and include the above short stuff until I run out. In other words, the best kits will go first.
I have thought all day on prices. I compared prices for hours and even on Ebay. I don’t want to rip anyone off, especially in todays monetary problems. I finally took an AVERAGE of all the prices I found, dropped that by $50, and came up with a price of $180 a kit. I can shave that more if you buy more than one kit. Plus shipping from 64482. I will probably go UPS, but can to a point change shipping to suit your needs. I have local UPS pick up point 5 miles away. I am about an hour from ANY truck freight place. You can make arrangements for pickup, I am fairly flexible about that, if you have anyone traveling in Northwest Missouri. I am just off I-29, about 1 ½ hours north of Kansas City, 1 hour south of Omaha, Nebraska, 1 hour east of Lincoln, Nebraska. Look for US Highway 136/I-29 intersection, Rock Port, Missouri, zip 64482. If you need more help, check out the G503 transportation area.
Payment: My choice would be cash, in person, then USPS money order, then paypal. Please….no checks, cashiers checks, money gram or such. I could do a Walmart transfer, but that could be delayed until I get to a local Walmart. LOL….I am still fairly flexible, but don’t want hassles with payments. Local banks a REAL hassle! Last cashiers check I had to drive an hour one way to get cashed! From a different branch of the SAME bank in my hometown.
Trades: Trades are welcome too. I am looking for M38A1 parts and M37 parts. If you have some stuff, let me know in a PM and I can let you know what I am looking for.
For phone and contact info, PM me and give info on how to contact you. Thank you…..ODG

I think I will have to back out. Not because of the price, that is a good price for the amount of stuff there. When I originally looked up the number I came up with a mounting kit and I figured it was the hardware to mount the brackets. That is what I am looking for. Including the supports for behind the fenderwell.
