Re: For Sale: 1966 Ford M151 MUTT
Topkick, I see this add came back from the dead (2 yrs old) . FYI, I made an offer and it was declined, with no counter offer. Also, I was informed the engine most likely is bad. Have you tried starting it yet ? You posted on "Sat May 30, 2009 11:08 am" and said you were going to put some batteries in it, and see if it will run. Did you ever get it started ? I would consider a better offer if it ran..I know it comes with a extra power pack, but we all know that is no guareentee it works either. FYI...Just my 2 cents..Goodluck and Cheers to all MVO.
BTW, I am still interested in getting it.

Re: For Sale: 1966 Ford M151 MUTT
Gentlemen - This M151 belonged to my late husband. It was kindly put on this list by a friend of his a couple of years ago. I am willing to entertain reasonable offers for the vehicle and would prefer that it go to someone who wants to restore and enjoy it. Or restore it and sell it for a profit.
Thank you, Nancy

Re: For Sale: 1966 Ford M151 MUTT
Nancy, welcome to the forum and let me be the first to apologize for my fellow members unfortunate choice of words. We did not know and you have our deepest condolences. I had sort of appraised the vehicle when it first showed up and I remember saying it was a very good candidate for restoration. The only question I had was whether it had been cut. That will be the biggest question most will have. All we would need to tell if it is or isn't are some pictures of the underneath, mainly under the seats. Anything I can do to help be sure to let me know or PM me.

Acudanut's "Back from the dead" quote. Although innocent in most times it is a little inappropriate here. He had no way of knowing the owner had passed. Why are you being so defensive?TopKick wrote:Rickf,

No defense, merely trying to figure out what's going on. This little MUTT will make someone a nice project. With the extra power pack and a little elbow grease, it can be back on the road in short order.

Re: For Sale: 1966 Ford M151 MUTT
Gentlemen -I am the owner of my late husband's Mutt, kindly posted by Topkick in 2009. I am getting more actively involved in selling this vehicle and would like it to go to someone who appreciates what it is. I am happy to consider reasonable offers. The Mutt is safely under cover, but it should be fixed up and put to use. Nancy

Re: For Sale: 1966 Ford M151 MUTT
Oooops - I'm so new to this, I didn't realize that my message of last evening DID post, so I've essentially repeated myself here today. Thanks for the nice welcome to the list. I thought Acudanut's comment was puzzling. I was not offended, but I do appreciate your sensitivity, Rick. Taking photos of the under carriage is impossible for me -- no idea how unless I could rig a giant mirror underneath. I could, I believe, and will, take photos of the condition under the seats. It will take a few days. Nancy

Oh - I'm dense again. You probably didn't mean take photos under the seats from the top, but from underneath. Hmm. I don't see how I can do that. Topkick and another friend of Ogden's both looked at the Mutt carefully and saw no evidence that it had been cut. That may be the best information I can offer. I would welcome anyone who wants to take a look. The vehicle is in one of my sheds near Lawrence, Kansas. Rock Chalk, Jayhawk, KU. Nancy

Nancy, Have no fears about forum mistakes, we all made them. You might also want to post this on the G838.org forum. http://www.g838.org/portal.php?sid=d2c5 ... 81d6aea0e5" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. A lot of the same people are over there but there are some who do not visit this site. That is a dedicated M-151 site. I know there have been a few people looking recently for a Mutt.

Re: For Sale: 1966 Ford M151 MUTT
Nancy: Sorry for the poor choice of words...I did not know what else to call a "for sale post" that was "quiet" for 2 years is all.
I can assure you it had nothing to due with your Husband's passing. As Rick made it out to be, and I quote: " Acudanut's "Back from the dead" quote. Although innocent in most times it is a little inappropriate here"....I have a lot of respect for those that have gone before us, including your Husband. God bless, Mike

Mike (Acudanut) - Apology accepted. You would have no way of knowing the reason for this Jeep being for sale. I'm sure you are respectful and I appreciate your public post. Nancy
