I am working on a M274 Army Mule with a 2 cylinder engine. The engine has a pulley on the front and it looks like there is a generator under the pulley that might be used to recharge the battery. This engine is not the original-someone has changed it at some point. Please look at pictures to what this pulley looks like.
Does anyone have info on the pulley/generator that is on this engine?

That is the alternator stator/pulley assembly that is used on the 5KW gen-set version of the 2AO42-3 engine. Most people remove them, along with the timing gear cover, and replace with the cover and pulley that is used on the mule version of this engine. I am not sure if the gen-set pulley will allow the belt to align correctly with the blower drive pulley
Gen-set engine
Correct mule pulley

If the blower belt lines up stay with your set up. I have the rest of the items to make your charging system work. They were taken off NOS engines I converted. Your pulley system does not have a key way so you will not know how to set the timing without the mule pulley or a degree wheel. Contact me either e-mail or PM
