Tandam Hitch

At various shows, i see many jeeps with tandem hitches fitted to them. There is even a company here in England that manufactures them. Some guys refer to them as A frames. The question is how common were these on jeeps in WW2 ?

They were issued as a TOW BAR FILD KIT A-8500 to enable two Jeeps to pull a light artillery piece. Not much out there about the number issued. If you are fortunate enough to obtain a Willys Factory Crated one, the used Toledo Ohio newspapers for packing. All the NOS Crated A-8500 Kits I have seen were Willys factory origin.
My Kit was dated mid 1944. Sent to me by Itz at Pueblo Auto Parts via John Bricker. They were $35.00 per crated Kit and shipped by Railway Express back in early 70's.
