That's cool. I'd say you're lucky to know that.Farrell Fox wrote: ↑Fri Nov 10, 2017 3:45 pmMine was rebuilt in Esslingen, Germany in 1952. I believe it was sent to Europe in December 1944, and the radio equipment is mounted in the original holes. So it at least did not sit stateside.

Re: Could this jeep have been there ?
Aside from some new tires, adding the shovel and axe and getting new cushions and using 6-8 rattle cans of 33070, all I did was not really visible. Went back from 12-volt to 6-volt and a new harness, SW gauges & KS speedo and a new gas tank and gas lines and a carb rebuild...

Re: Could this jeep have been there ?
Two good looking jeep's, if they were mine I would leave the one that you say need's paint alone, you can't get that look again, it has that barn find/battlefield look, that one would look so good in a parade with ammo. crate's piled up in the back, camo. net, in front of the windshield on the hood, and drive it thru. a couple of mud hole's before you show it, or a parade, and leave the tire's just like they are.
There's enough pretty jeep's out there, let's keep a few that looked the way they really did during the war and on the front line.

There is good WWII shade paint out there with the correct texture, a year or two of sweaty or greasy hand prints and lots of ingress and egress rubbing will return a new WWII finish to its proper patina.

They all look beautiful, and remember we all have the most easily recognised vehicle in the world.
