L134 Marine engine

Post by Otto5959 » Fri Apr 28, 2017 1:55 pm

Does anyone know where they may have been used. I have a 1943 engine that came with the water cooled manifold and bell housing set up with a u joint style drive shaft. It is being converted so as it can be used in a 1946 CJ2A.

Sent you a PM. Is it possible that your GPW motor was installed in a GPA at some point? I'm not very well versed on GPA's so I'm just taking a guess.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

That kind of setup is not for a GPA. The GPA drive train and manifold setup was the same as a GPW except it had a special rear axle and transfer case front housing assembly for hull seals.

I have not heard on a GPW engine used for marine application but I could be uninformed. Willys engines were used in boats and such. Likely a GPW engine that was used as a replacement engine for a Willys that was in a boat.
