question for rotten frame under passenger floor plate.

Post by steveperryman » Tue Nov 28, 2017 4:09 am

These Mutts are full of surprises, aren't they? I have no frame connecting the passenger wall... Do I have to make my own frame part by welding pieces together? Or does someone sell frame parts for the Mutts?

Thanks...

If you are also looking for the battery box floors, Fil Bonica has some nice ones for sale. I bought one and it is great. http://g838.org/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=11089 and the G503 is viewtopic.php?f=15&t=291792

In your first pic if you are talking about the frame piece on the left then yes, you will have to fabricate your own on that. The one under the floor is part of the underbody repair kit of which the pieces you show next are a part of. From the looks of the frame going to the back you will need the entire kit not just the front cross member which is what you show. As was said, Fil Bonica has the battery floor and a whole lot of the other panels can be had here. www.m151bodypanels.com/

Rick, do you happen to know what gauge the steel should be?

The body is 18 gauge but I think that inner frame may be a bit thicker. Give Guy a call at CMD and he can tell you since he is rebuilding an X cut one himself and he has been into every single panel of it. Here is his rebuild, if you ever think you are overwhelmed just look at this.

Use Chrome as your browser and when you are on there do a search for "photobucket embed fix" and install it into chrome. Then you will be able to see all of those pictures anywhere that Photobucket has blocked. But only when you are using chrome as your browser. I actually switched to chrome and found it uses a LOT less of my computer memory and resources.
