You can get a float from NorFar but I have never seen a bad composite float unless it was physically damaged. It seems odd to me that this carburetor worked fine before but now you have this problem with it. The usual areas that would be affected by storage have all been covered. Have you checked the fuel pressure? Fuel pressure is controlled by a spring in the fuel pump and I do not see how it could increase on it's own but that is the only other solution I can think of if it is physically pouring gas out of the intake. Just a thought here, you are not talking about the shot of gas that comes out after sgut down or when yo stop cranking with a no start are you? That shot of gas is a normal effect of the vacuum operated vacuum pump and will run back out of the intake if the hose is off.

Lets start from scratch here. You say it is "drowning out", do you mean that there is gas pouring out of the carburetor or that it is just running too rich and dying? If the second option have you tried adjusting the idle mixture? I am just trying to get a better feel for what exactly is going on so I can better advise on how to approach the problem.
