M151
Recently purchased a M151 maybe a 63 or 64. Has a Fruehauf body but cannot tell much about it. No hood numbers remain and do not think the assigned serial numbers are correct. Looks as the assy. number is 6754459 said serial build no 9533-8377 These are the only numbers I can find on it. Was told it was made by Willys? This vehicle also has been totally encased in 1/8 inch metal plate all around. Must have been added. Has not been cut and not bad condition. When I can I will post some pics of same. Drove a M151 many miles in Korea in 68 and 69 but the one I used was made by ford. Any knowledge please post.

Re: M151
look for a post by ken the muttguru. he is one of the most knowledgable when it comes to the numbers end of history. get in touch with him. if you have mechanical questions, rickf is your go to guy. decades of experience wrenching. get the manuals, paper if you can, or the free ones off the computer. use them. you will find these things are still pretty sturdy.

Re: M151 maintenance free battery
Does anyone have a civilian battery size that you'd suggest for the 151? When I search it seems the only choices are 2hn and 51r.
Neither seem readily available or reasonably priced.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Many thanks,
Snuffy

Re: M151
The 51R is for most Hondas for many, many years. I have never had trouble finding them. Batteries are not cheap anymore. The days of 50.00 batteries are long gone. The average battery is going to set you back 100 bucks nowadays.
