Anyone have a listing of the common fastners?

Post by redcoat54th » Thu Aug 11, 2016 5:36 am

Has anyone ever made a list of M151 fasteners in a cross reference form? Part Number XXXXXXXX = Grade 5, 1/4" NF bolt 3/4" long etc. Would be helpful for the common stuff as the parts manuals do not say. I have a lot of fittings missing on my MUTT so cannot use the originals as a reference. Thanks Bob

Dont have a cross reference but have a ton of grade 8 hardware in drawers for just that purpose.
Constantly digging in to it to find the right part.
Not the right way but it gets things done.
For the longest time I would go to shows and buy NOS hardware just to have.
Prices were lower than buying by the piece especially fine thread grade 8.
When i am building things it saves a lot of time not having to go to the hardware store or Fastenal for parts.
Hope this helps.

Fil, I have a few NF bolts but never seem to have the size I need. LOL. Great tip on buying NOS stock at shows. Thanks for the input. Bob

Was doing it for years til I got overloaded with the stuff.
Found that people would have install kits for radios or whatever and wouldnt use the stuff.
Others just sold them as parts. Tor the most part they wete grade 8
Regularly go to Fastenal and Tracto Supply and stock up on standard coarse thread by the pound.
That way you wont run out.
Sounds kind of expensive but its awefully nice to have what you need on hand at 9:00 at nite and you are trying to finish a project.
Just some thoughts.

I use to have a web site that show the NSN to the actual size, grade and thread pitch of fasteners. I think I posted it here but can't remember where at. If I find it I will let you know.
I found it ( viewtopic.php?f=144&t=254725&hilit=+fasteners )

Try this! It list the fasteners by part number like a MS, AN, NF, NC and so fourth.
