Photo Request

Post by bikeman » Sun Oct 05, 2014 3:21 am

Photo Request.

Looking for "correctness" to see if I have a bad part or misaligned or something. Fender off would be awesome, but as long as I can see, I should be ok.

Need a picture of the battery box in relation to the passenger side BO Marker light. And correct emplacement of the BO Marker light. Either I have the wrong BO Marker or I have it in the wrong spot.

You must have an M-38. To make it easier, how about a pic of the light you are installing. The correct mounting hole is already in your grill.

Yes, I have a 1951 M38.

The light was already installed, the issue is when I installed the Battery Box it rubs right on the wire when the wire exits the connector at the bad of the BO light.

This one shows the issue. you'll have to open it separately to see the issue.

Your Markers do not fit correctly because they are the late type housing made for Packard (Rubber) connectors that plug directly into the rear of the housing, the OEM B.O. Markers for M-38 have a pigtail wire with the Douglas Connector (metal connector) on the end and the housing is configured a bit different. All you have to do is buy a pair of WO-649693 ORD- 7723899 M-38/M-38A1 Black Out Marker Lights that are made for your Jeep. What you have is late type B.O. Markers as installed on M-151 and very late M-38A1 which has a bit more room behind the Radiator Guard.
The M-38A1 does not have the battery box in the way.
I can get pics tomorrow of M-38 B.O. Markers.

Thank you!

That doesn't surprise me considering some of the other things with this Jeep. I guess I know what one of the next purchases once I get it FMC will be.
