Re: MY 1955 M38A1
Well, with the way parts get switched out on these old jeeps, its not really a surprise that it would have a different hood by now. I think mine was a radio jeep as it has extra springs on the back, and holes for where the radio gear cables would go...Just a guess on my part, as I have no idea for sure....Most of the history on my jeep before it came to Cornell Univ is a mystery to me...but its fun trying to solve it from the clues left!
Really nice to meet you, and glad we both have the same love of these old critters!!
Have a good day!!

A pic from a car show a while back. Neat little gun the other A1 has on it, ain't it? I'll bet that keeps folks from tailgating....Lol!

Chris, every though its "pink" and not OD Green, I know it still has to be a ball to drive around town, you just need to get it done for your "very understanding" wife!!!!

Coral, salmon, pink. Its all the same to me!!
Completely original, only 23K miles on that pink jeep. Pretty rare I hear.
My wife loves it, so its all good. And Bruce, my wife is ABSOLUTELY the most understanding woman I know!! Or else she would have thrown me and my jeeps out long long long ago!!!
Hahaha!!!

He's off to a good start, bet he's counting the years until he get a licence. Does he know how to turn off the light switch?

Re: MY 1955 M38A1
Nice Jeep What tail lights are you using to have blinkers If you want to have a full red lens (definitely a safety upgrade) and still use original early M series light buckets, install a pair of M561 gamma goat lenses.

Re: MY 1955 M38A1
I recently bought a set of those lights! Great minds think alike huh????
The tail lights on it at the moment are the ones Cornell Univ put on it. They are twelve volt and have turn signal capability.
One of these days I will install the full lens version and make it look a bit more original.
Thanks again,
Chris

Neat idea with the rear license plate holder too! Sure beats my two zip ties method!!
I may have to rig up something similar! Very cool!

Re: MY 1955 M38A1
And no Aedan has not learned how to use the light switch yet. Although, Cornell converted it over to a regular light switch. The military one is still there, but just for show...
