My M38 is back among the living!
Got my rebuilt carb back from Jim W. in Pensacola, got it on the jeep today, along with a rebuilt fuel pump, new tank pickup & filter, and 5 gallons of non-ethanol gas. Hit the starter and she fired up after about 10 revolutions and ran like a watch. Need to service the transmission & transfer case and then need to make sure I drive it often. Sitting is really rough on a vehicle. I make an oath to crank it every week and drive it at least once a month! Darn mules have taken up too much of my time!

Chuck
I feel your pain on cranking the vehicles..
Do you have a military base near by? Every Saturday I have 2 to 6 Marines come out, and they help me with my collection of military trucks. It is a win, win for everybody. it gets them out of the barracks, and it helps you maintain your trucks. I have been doing this for about 8 years...there is a down side, you will become very close to them, like a parent, and you know they will have to leave one day..

Original post was 7 years ago and I am happy to report that the M38 is still cranking and running fine. I have sold off several mules and jeeps and now have more time to spend playing around with this one. I have since installed a new set of tires and a full canvas enclosure.

Hello Chuck,
You have a beautiful M-38 there !!
I hope you get to drive it more often than you plan
I saw a color pic in Korea with a piano wire cutter installed on an M-38, if you ever thought about adding another
option on your great jeep !
Best Regards,
Ray
