Vehicles with willy parts

Post by h1zelmann » Thu Aug 03, 2017 1:18 pm

Hi!

It is interesting for me to see it again and again, where willys parts were installed everywhere!

Here a Porsche tractor with all-wheel drive:

And a self-contained tricycle tractor with Willys rear axle and VW Kübelwagen engine:

Is that front wheel a combat wheel?

Since the differntiaI is towards the drivers side I suspect that the axle is off a Bantam or GPW.

Spicer/(Dana) made axles for several companies back then, but when you see them, it is hard not to think of jeeps.
I believe Spicer gets credit for development of the universal joint.
