They have been busy at the Imperial War Museum and they have uploaded 15,000 images from a private collection.

His teenage enthusiasm for the airfield developed into a life-long interest, and he published many highly respected books on the US Air Forces in Britain, whilst making his living as a farmer.
He collected images from veterans and official sources, identified and sorted them. The majority of these images are black and white but a significant proportion of them are in colour. The colour photographs in particular offer a fresh view of Second World War military life.
Most of the pictures are to do with the USAAF in the UK (Some are overseas) and many pictures of aircraft. The pictures are not right clickable to download but are available to be purchased but you can have a good look on screen. If you click on the link below you should get taken to several pages of Jeeps, some of which are in colour. The second link takes you to the entire collection but you can of course do your own searches.
