LIFE PHOTOS

Post by REG » Tue Jan 17, 2012 12:49 pm

The suggested approach when posting photographs from LIFE magazine.

Firstly, search the thread here to make sure nothing has already been posted.
Secondly give it a short and easily understandable title

So that proper acknowledgement can be given to the source (photographer/LIFE) please try and include the following reference data (if time and skills permit)

1. Your own comments
2. Copy and paste the notes from the archive, using the "quote" parenthesis
3. A direct link to the picture so that the FULL detail can be accessed, using the "url" parenthesis
4. A smaller/medium sized photo, using the "img" parenthesis

For example:

Guys, is that a series of shipping deails just visible on the trailer?
Normandy Invasion

Here's the first picture the right way around:

It happens all the time, both with LIFE pictures and with pictures taken by the Signal Corps.

Thanks, Goran

I just wish I could read what was on the trailer!

The writing on the trailer is impossible to read. I tried fixing it in Photoshop, and sharpen it, but to no avail.

The Jeep, however, is named "RUTH". (A very common name on Jeeps, apparently)

Funny, but I thought the same until I checked the photo again.
