I made up a new mold and this one had pinholes in it. Dont know what I did last time because the other mold was very smooth. The first hubcap turned out pretty good but the next one sucked. Im going to have to put this on hold because Im under the gun to get ready to drive to Tower Park in April. I thought I could just whip some of these things out but to make something and have it come out so there is very little finish work is going to require some practice, experience and listening to other peoples advice. Chris Guska has been sending me a few suggestions but I'm just to busy to change directions and try something new.
Also that parting agent I was waiting on didnt work and I had to cut apart my mold with a razor blade again.
Since you were the topic starter I will offer you the only hubcap that has turned out so far. It will have a few tiny pinholes in it but is nothing a little putty wont fix. Once its painted you wont be able to tell the difference until you smack it into a door jamb and it pops off.
Send me your address and I will mail it out to you no charge. It will cost me like a buck fifty to send it. Not worth Paypal or my time going to the bank.

Re: My New 1943 John Wood M3A4
Nice, all you need to ad now is the tactical marking for the 26th Inf Regt, similar to the 18IR original marking found on this cart in France....
Scroll about 1/3 down on my website for info:
http://www.theliberator.be/handcart.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The 26th Inf Regt would have had a similar circel, but with 3 horizontal lines, the number above the lines indicating the Battalion 1, 2 or 3. The number on the side remains a mystery...

Thanks, I'm pleased with the way it turned out, I do have to say without this site G503, your liberator site along with Craig Johnsons site, it wouldn’t have happened. The members here have been very helpful and generous. Thank you to all the members who made this possibleJohan WILLAERT wrote:Nice, all you need to ad now is the tactical marking for the 26th Inf Regt, similar to the 18IR original marking found on this cart in France....

Oh yeah as for the markings That’s interesting, I was under the impression that carts didn’t get markings. I done mine to match the Jeep and my Bantam. Also the photo on your site shows the cart on top of the Bantam trailer is interesting cause that’s the way I picture mine going up the road 68 years later.

Vast majority of the carts were not unit marked...
Thanks for the compliments on the site...
Cheers,
