Far as I know all reflector lenses on M-38 are red Guidex or red Stimsonite 12A.

Unless your going for a factory restoration, these should be the oval type, also seen on other US Mil vehicles (trailers, trucks, M37's, etc.) there were various stampings, some have flat ends, others curved, but they are the oval type, not the hard to find WWII round reflectors.
I used local Auto Shop inserts on my WWII reflectors, as I was not worried about the pattern inside them, rather reflective increase.

My 1950 M38 came with 3 original red reflectors. The spare tire carrier had an amber with the insert and the right rear side had a red insert type.I was told that the rear sides were supposed to be amber but found TXDOT requires red.The 3 originals are Stimsonite.

The SNL's will confirm that Red is the only color reflector installed on the M-38/M-38A1 (MB/GPW also).
Red oval Guides with either/Stimsonite 12A or Guidex lens were the OEM Reflectors for G-740 and G-758 Jeeps.

And FYI:
The majority of the M-37's had Round Corcoran Brown w/Stimsonite 12A . Amber was installed at front sides of cargo body with Red at rear sides and tailgate. The late production M=37B1 made in 1968 may have used other than Corcoran Brown.

The 50's M-35 (Gasser) and M-211 2 1/2 Ton 6X6 Cargo Trucks had Oval Guides with Stimsonite Lens.

There are two shapes of oval reflectors; you want the early scalloped oval shape. Later ones are totally convex in shape.

Oval Guide is the word when installing OEM M-38/M-38A1 Reflectors. NOS are still out there if one is patient. Oval Guide with "Guidex Lens are the latest, they appeared in the early 50's. Oval Guides are not totally oval, the bezels have 4 straight edges.

I can't provide pics right now, but the Bezel will be stamped GUIDE 415, and the lenses will be Stimsonite 12A or Guidex. WWII will have Stimsonite 12 with larger facets.
