John At MWM has them. The corner mount is an SC-C-28592. The drawings are at my photo site:

And there is a later Corner Mount similar to SC-C-28592 that is specific to the M-38A1. I do not have the SC number.

The number I posted is the correct SC number for both the M38A1 and the M38. All the SC radio installation drawings for both the M38 and M38A1 that use the MP50 reference the same 2 drawings for the MP50 support, SC-C-28591 and SC-C-28592. The one I have fits both jeeps fine.

The Bracket assembly is SC-C-28591(with hardware), the Bracket itself is SC-C-28592.
NOTE the date of the Drawing is March 1951 and there are no notes on the drawings that make up this assembley referring to the yet to be standardized M-38A1 of the future.
Yes,these were installed by the thousands on the M-38 and M-38A1 Jeeps, but there is a later Bracket ( I do not have the number).
The later Bracket is 1 3/4" longer across the back (8" vs 6 1/4" for the SC-C-28592) in order to better accomodate the wider body of the M-38A1.
I have the late bracket in stock along with NOS AN/VRC Radios and their installation Kits.

There are apparantly drawings for the later style bracket that is made to fit the M-38A1.

Agree with Joel having owned both brackets

The later, longer bracket will allow your bracket to cross the rear panel seam at the drivers side rear corner of the jeep, the shorter one will come short. I had original holes drilled for the later longer bracket and the shorter one would not reach them
I am seeking information on M38A1's configured for MP use from 1953-?.

I am also interested in equipment and uniforms worn and carried by MP's during this timeframe.

Perhaps you guys haven't noticed that I did not say Joel was wrong. I simply stated that the M38 bracket is correct based on the Signal Corps drawings for the various radio sets which are all labeled for both M38 and M38A1 and are newer dated drawings that still call out the early bracket. These drawings had revision dates of Mar 1953 and newer adding the M38A1.

The better spent effort here would be for Joel to research and post the later drawings he has. This would be like contributing to the hobby, I think!

I have your drawings on file, and yes the SC-C-28591 Bracket is illustrated. What is missing Cuz, is your practical experience, there is a later bracket that is manufactured for the wider M-38A1 body and will bolt up to the rear panel perfectly. The bulk of the SC Radio Installation drawings are dated in the early 50's and the drilling locations (even on the drawings updated to indicate the M-38A1) are for M-38 only. Check them to see for yourself, NOTE View D-D on those drawings for the mounting holes to the right of the seam, this dimension is not possible on the M-38A1 installation of the SC-C-28591 Bracket.
There are some Veterans who do have accurate real time hands on M-38/M-38A1 experience to share. Just posting drawings with no explanation does not give the whole picture.
The late bracket will allow attachment to the M-38A1 rear panel as is done on the M-38.
I have NOS examples of these two antenna brackets stored with my extra AN/VRC 10 Radio. Will try to post them tonight.

Lookit here you pompous blow what. I agreed with your analysis earlier. You don't need to blow the same steam twice. Just try getting off you tired brain and help folks out with the revised drawing. Now if a guy wants to restore an A1 with a VRC10 circa 1953 in Korea he would choose the early ill fitting bracket to be correct. You could actually get off the bragging train and help out with a copy or at least the date of the revised drawing so accurate restorers could choose correctly. Is that asking to much of the Ole Great One??

No bragging here, just good information from real time experience. Nothing wrong with clearing up the misleading drawings is there? Soon as the rain stops, some pics of the antenna brackets and additional detail will be posted. It helps to have a real Jeep handy to help explain things.

 Yea, right, when you were a wee little fellow of 8 years of age you personally inspected all the new 1953 M38A1 radio antenna installations!!

 Yea, right, I couldn't afford a real M38A1 so I bought this orange Civil Defense unit from Pennington County SD 24 years ago.
