Howdy Gents, I was looking through Craigslist last Saturday and found a new little gem in the heavy equipment section waiting for me. The seller was asking $150.00 and I thought that that was a reasonable fee to pay for a W.W. 2 Gennie. I have already restored one that I know is a March 1943 model and was told that that was the start of production for this type of generator.. However I don't know what its' particular letter code of assembly is. It could be "AA", "AB", "AC" or "AD". I do know it has a Briggs and Stratton "ZZ" engine, 6.5 H.P.
The new acquisition is an "AF" assembly. I don't know which particular engine is providing the power to turn the alternator, nor do I know the date of manufacture. Does anyone have an idea about the engine?
Here are some photos of both gens., and if one is good are two better?
You can see that some mechanical genius decided to circumvent the two pin twist lock plugs and hard wire a cord right to the output box.
My restored "A?", on left, model and the new to me "AF" model, on right.
Data plates are always fun to read, I think. The "AF" had been moisture and fungal protected 7 May, 1952.
Due to the difference in engines, this data plate leads me to think that the company listed was an authorized Briggs and Stratton sub-contractor able to build and assemble these different units. I am not sure though.
I was very happy when I looked into the accessory/tool box that the cover plate/plug outlet was there. A spare carb. was also found. The mechanical genius can now be given accolades for not tossing them out .
Well, thanks for lookin', if anyone has any more knowledge about either Gennie, please let me know.

The AF model has the correct B&S model 23 engine. It is a 7hp. These were made in the early 50s because of the drain of the Korean War.

Re: P.E. 75 "AF".
Thanks G.W., I was doing some research and found Your You Tube video with the same Gennie. I heard you say the model engine and did some looking around and found that my generator is as You say, Korean War Vintage. I think now it was built close to 1952 as the M.F.P. data plate shoe the date.
I don't mind, it is still really cool and will look nicer once I have cleaned up the paint. Thanks for Your input.
