Looking for gaskets

Post by krisinwa.st. » Wed May 11, 2016 10:15 am

I'm looking for the head , intake / exhaust gaskets for my PE-95-K power unit ,
what I know about Willys four cylinder engines is about zero , can anyone help
me with part numbers , are the gaskets available through places like Car-quest
or NAPA ? , the reason I ask about auto the auto parts stores is that I have rebuilt
many six cylinder continental F-245 flat heads and always acquired full and partial
gasket sets through Car-quest ... , so where do I start to look for the numbers
that I need to find ? , any input , help or comments much appreciated . Thanks ,
Kris

Found another number on the machined surface of the block
just above the water pump , stamped ; RMC 49293

FS7267B Felpro. I think that FS7285B will work as well. O'reilly, AutoZone, Car Quest should all have this.

Thanks for the information , I looked up the two Felpro part numbers , looks like
there is a difference in the head gasket , one is early and one is late , I'm not sure
what motor I have , some numbers that I found ; on the packing list , Engine , Willys
No. 807532 ( in use ) , Stock number NSNR , John R Hollingsworth corp. Clifton Heights
PA. , order # 38203 / Phila 53-51 . also this number/letter combo cast on the right
side of the engine block just above the oil pan ; 641087-L-W-12-A-N1-CR-N2
The two Felpro numbers above are full engine sets , I only need a head , intake exhaust
and side cover gaskets as I only plan to get the valves unstuck , cleaned up and hand
lapped . Any idea what engine ( early or late ) I have , possibly a year ? . Thanks again ,
Kris

Another number , stamped on the machined surface on the front of the block
just above the water pump ; RMC 49293

Any idea what year this engine is , was the " Industrial " only used in gen sets ?
would it use the late rather than the early head gasket ? is the intake / exhaust
gasket the same for early and late engines ? , Like I said earlier I know close to
zero about Willys motors ... so I ask a lot of questions , Thanks , Kris

That would be the late one. Also, If you were to buy the gaskets individually, it would probably be the same amount. The gasket number is the same for the head, just put HS in front of the number instead. You can look up each individual gasket off of a 1945 Jeep Willys. That is how Oreilly auto parts has it stored. I also have FelPro gasket vintage catalog. I would be happy to email it to you.

Thanks Adam , so the block is for the M38 jeep , do you know what the head was
originally fitted to ? , I have removed the head and see where a Victor head gasket
# 1022 was used , so I figure that is the correct gasket , I've tried to cross reference
it to FelPro with no luck , is FelPro 7825 B the correct gasket to use for this motor/
head combo. ? , Kris

The b looks like it. Big oval water hole in middle. Go to ebay and search willys mb head gasket. You will see yours and the earlier one. The head probably came off a welder or pump or something. I dont know the diff betwen the original head and this one.

Sorry, I did not get to my heads and gaskets. Will try Monday. I disagree with Adam, many PE-95's were re-engined in late 50's with new engines that had the industrial cylinder heads. You will note your engine has rotating valves also.

I bought half of the remaining gaskets for my units a while ago.
