PE-95 With TM and Other Documents

Post by TwoCar » Thu Aug 20, 2015 10:31 am

Hey Guys!

I picked up a PE-95 at an auction this week. It looks pretty complete and original, without a rebuild tag on the MB - 5k serial number engine. It was on a Mennonite farm and used to provide power in the barn during milking times.
The seller included an original Technical Manual (TM 11-904H) dated September 3, 1943, a Temporary Supplement dated April 7, 1945 and a War Department Unsatisfactory Equipment Report. I guess everyone that used the GenSet over the past 70+ was happy with it, because the report was never filled out. All of the documents are in very good shape with some wear and tear, but typical for their age.

I’m a glass half full person, so it’s nice to think that the GenSet and documents have been together all these years and I plan to keep it that way.

Are these documents rare? Does anyone know what the stamp on the back of the TM means (Its in the close up on the 4th picture.)? Not that I’m going to sell the documents, but does anyone know what they are worth?

Thanks!

I never have seen Manuals in paper form but would love to have em. So I would say somewhat rare. I can only assume that Portrayal press would have a copy but have not looked yet. Id be willing to pay 200 or so I guess if it were for sale. Matt

Nice Adam! I prefer pictures over text. :D Its nice to know that other documents survived as well. I see in one of your pictures it shows a genset in a trailer. Does it say which trailer it is?

Sorry Adam the darn auto spell is really pissing me off. I am looking for a list or picture/diagram of spare parts or tools that may have come with the PE-95, much like vehicles like the jeep did.

Which PE unit before I look in all these books.

PE95K is right on the tool box for spare parts

G and H has pictures of tool group and I think some maint. items.

the TM 11-904 is down loadable, shows some tools and maint items, its in this generator section, probably back 2 or 3 years

Matt.

I just looked through my manual and found a section labeled, "Mobile Spare Parts" with a table that lists 89 parts. I'm not the expert that Adam is, and he can comment on the list and whether those parts "traveled" the PE-95 or not. I'll take a couple pictures tomorrow and post them for you to review.

Thanks. I figured something must travel with these things. They have a huge tray on top and two tool boxes, had to be for something.
