Hi Guys,
Are the driver and passenger side floorboards (area between front of seats and firewall perfectly flat........or do they have raised shapes in them? Reason I ask is my floorboards appear to be a flat mess of metal, bondo, etc, so I'm not sure what they should look like. Looking at the pics of the repro floorboards from the vendors they seem to be perfectly flat with just a single short thin indentation before the accelerator pedal. But I looked at a supposedly original M38A1 at Aberdeen and the floorboards had raised shapes pressed into them. Then I looked at the replacement floorboard from KaiserWillys and it also has the same raised shapes shapes. The KaiserWillys floor needs to be cut for the tank well, etc.....Googling it I see the shapes are in original CJ jeeps (red floor below). So was the floor board the same in the CJs as the M38A1? The vendors may be showing a pic of the M38 floorboards, but listing it as M38A1.
If anyone has original floorboards in their A1 I'd love to see pics of both sides. Please. Pretty please.
thanks,
bob

Driver and passenger Floor Drains were either inboard next to the center floor pan or outboard against the outer sides adjacent to the toe boards. Inboard indicates 52-early 53, outboard indicates the rest of the production.

Hi Ben,
Understand about the floor drains.........but what about the raised portions of the floorboards? The M38A1 I saw at the show had the raised sections like the red floor in the pic. My floor doesn't have them and is flat. Which is correct?
thanks,
bob
