Has anyone been getting more than 7-8 years out of the quality YS-950 Carburetor kits before the Diaphragms fail?

Hi Ben,

Which kits are the "quality" kits and which ones just plain suck? Or if you'd rather not name names on here I can email you. I'm asking because I'm about to rebuild mine and have been looking at kits. Everyone claims their kits are the best of the best, ethanol resistant, blah, blah, blah. The only difference I see is in parts count.......some come with a number of fillister head screws and some don't. Otherwise they all seem to have the same bits. So please.........do tell.

thanks,
bob

Bought a kit from Midwest Willys about 10 years ago - still going strong in my M38A1.

I rebuilt mine 5 years ago and it's still running good.

The original late 1980's Carter Kit in my M-38A1 has gone close to a dozen years, no symptoms of bad diaphragms. It is a perfect example of how an M-38A1 should run. Good 60's Army training, TM study, PM and years of practice pays off.
