I just repainted body, hood, and hinges on my 1953 M38a1. This may be trivial, but when I took the hinges off of the vehicle the hood portion of the hinge was installed so that the pins point outward toward the edges of the hood (it looked like this was original mounting due to the amount of corrosion in the bolts). When viewing pictures online I see that most M38a1's have the pins pointing inward toward the center of the hood. Was there a factory protocol for direction of the pins when mounting? What direction should they go if it matters.
Also, I am ready to mount the top bows storage brackets. The front and rear brackets both have an offset bend in them. What direction is the offset supposed to go? It seems like the offset goes inward for the front bracket and outward for the rear.
Thanks,
Brad

Re: hood hinges
Factory Installation is with the Pins facing center of the hood (Inward).
