Re: M-SERIES VEHICLE BRIDGE PLATES
They are GI, look good, and add color. I'll bet that a few did get installed on active Army Jeeps, tho.
I couldn't resist mounting one on my M-37B1.

Re: M-SERIES VEHICLE BRIDGE PLATES
I have a bridge plate too. Also not correct is the 7.50x16 tires, rope, siren, turn signal lamps, civvy lockout hubs, gun installed on a radio jeep and what you can't see - Tweety Bird and Sylvester floor mats. The rest is pretty stock 'tho. Siren is there because of the movie "Patton" - you know, when he's riding into that Tunesian town on the halftrack, hand on the barrel, siren blaring. You have to have fun!

The "BRIDGE PLATE" bulletin, TB-746-93-1, dated 1964 for later M-Series Trucks.

Re: M-SERIES VEHICLE BRIDGE PLATES
I just purchased a nice Pyrene brass extinguisher 1 quart with original mount. I took the Brasso to it last night and so far very nice. I found a company that sells these 1/4 inch thick RUBBER square magnents(no scratching) with pre-drilled hole to accept a small mounting screw and have a 25lb pull weight. They will fit perfect on the back of the extinguisher mount(2 of them) and I will let you know how they hold my 4lb total weight brass extingusher on my front driver side fender and NO holes to be drilled in fender. That extinguisher looks neat, just like the bridge plate. If you look on ewillys site today you will see some jeeps in color with bridge plates. John

Re: M-SERIES VEHICLE BRIDGE PLATES
We never put bridge plates on 1/4 ton trucks in any units I was in; they do not belong there and I do not have them on mine.
The solution is to pretend that your jeep is the CG's vehicle and then you can put anything on it you want, legitimately. GOs can do what they want.
Yes they look cool. Still wrong.
