body cushion's

Postby circleburner12 » Sat Jun 16, 2012 6:40 pm

I order body mount cushion for my a1 from a mv dealer/vendor, when they arrived they all were the same thickness. but what I'm reading from the ord 9. the cushion are different in thickness. I assumed they would match up with the ord 9 manual.

Is this going to cause me trouble trying to line the tub up????. thxs

Not really, but it helps to follow the Parts List sizes. During the 60's Willys used cushions stamped out of tire sidewalls, and the thicknesses followed the catalog.

Truck mud flaps, get rubber ones with a logo embossed on it,they will have thick and thin sections. If you can't find any let me know .I can dig some up.

I used some of the different part no. Willys factory cushions cut from tires and they are al close match thicknesswise to the specs in the parts list. If you bcan find an Industrial Rubber Supplier near you (I have one that services a paper mill) they may be willing to cut some shapes out for you using different reinforced rubber material thickness.

I was in Tractor Supply the other day and noticed their roles of belting for driving implements. It's sold by the foot and 4 & 7 inch wide 99cents/foot, 10 inch 2.99/foot. I used to buy stuff from an old belting supply company but Katrina convinced them to retire.

what i ended up doing is where the manual listed the thin cusion, i went to the local oreillys auto parts store and purchase the thin hard rubber pads. that you applied bondo with, cut it down to size and it work great.
