I had a Stewart Warner AAF marked engine heater similar to the one in the above photos, it now resides at Fagen Fighters Museum in Minnesota.

Here's a photo dated March 17, 2018 at the location of HANGAR 1 where that snowbound B-17 was back in 1944 in Gerry can's previous photo. The hangar is used b a large aircraft maintence firm. the time spread is 74 years, the sliding doors have been replaced and the rooms on the near side expanded but the original WWII Flood Lights are still in place (I doubt they can be turned on).
This hangar survived an F-80 ejection seat incident back in 52 or 53 and if only it could talk, it would have great stories to tell.
Hangar 1 was an everyday sight for me in the 40's-50's.

Thank you Gerry Can, I still appreciate the Dow Field photos you posted. I visit that same spot by Hangar 1 every day. That photo of the new B-24 is a perfect example of "Shiny New" Dow was a busy jumping off spot for aircraft headed to the ETO during WWII.

My B-17, B-24, B-25 C-47,C-54, KC-97, L-19, L-20, H-23 flights all originated at that same ramp alongside Hangar 1. I have had a ringside seat to 1940's thru present USAF aviation history from this very same spot.

Not much MV activity to talk about lately, but there is plenty to daydream about.
