The original fording preparation stickers are nice, but obstruct the driver's view. Jack O'Bannion still sells authentic stickers that were copied from an original a D-Day Veteran and relative brought home from WWII.

Jack O Banion has been selling them for years, his are printed both sides, are exact copies from the original, color printed, front and back and have 48 Star Flag.
His ad appears in the classifieds of Supply Line a couple times a year. He may belong to the MVPA.

Here's a picture of an original sticker:

And one of the most famous fording sticker photo out there:

It's understandable if the drivers tore it away as soon as they had landed. And the sticker was made of paper, so it probably didn't take at lot of effort either.

And they were shellacked on, there was no stickum. I had one on my Closed Cab CCKW, it obstructed vision, especially in a parade. They were made to serve a purpose, and a lot of non mechanics were put on detail prepping trucks and tanks for "D-Day".

Not as authentic or exact as the ones made from original by Mr. O'Bannion.

Don't want to go off on a tangent but . . . .
What is that tube running up alongside the windscreen next to the MP?

If it were on the flex pipe on the passenger side, it would be the Distributor vent tube. The Distributor vent issupposed to be on the Air Intake flex pipe.

There are slight differences in the printing.
