Wow , great pictures.
The men in 101st and the equipment had to be tough.
I live not to far from Fort Bragg, and before that Camp Lejeune.
Seen them parachuted, but none free falling.
When I worked in Heavy Equipment, we rebuilt a military loader, completely refurbished it for the Military, and got sent pictures of it flattened, chute didn't open.

Thanks,

Dave

Those vehicles made good salvage, Bud Werner used to buy them for their small parts.

Demolish it by air drop, it's OK. Demolish it by reckless operation, get a Statement of Charges.

camo suit?

Ingo
Noticed that as well. The US Military wasn't really into camo uniforms until late Vietnam. They retained & issued that WWII "duck hunter" pattern camo uniform up into the early 1960's. But for only very limited use...

Sometimes the chutes fail, Jeeps do not like that as the wheels push up thru the fenders.

I miss the days of the "stand up" cap.
I believe that cap was known as the "M1961 Ridgeway".

All I ever got in the early 60's was the PX version we bought ourselves, we did not get genuine GI Issue Ridgeways. Barracks pranksters broke them in.
