Now if I see correct there are no side handles on these Jeeps
So GI's had to drill may by they where not all drilled alike
As we see in todays Jeeps are all alike going by some drawing.

Well Bob,
I would like to think that they had to drill them
And all Jeeps are not alike
We are recreating something that happend 60 years ago and times where simple then

Willy, all the holes were punched, not drilled. I have lots of holes in my MZ-1 where there are several layers of sheetmetal and you can tell for a fact they were punched.

The holes for those grab handles were punched.

Only something modified or retrofitted would be drilled.

All jeeps were not alike, but all jeeps go thru the same processes during manufacturing, even ones with PTOs and forest green enamel.

I agree, Bob has put some top quality shots on here.
Seeing this picture makes me a little sick though.
After looking for these jeeps for a long time, a long time friend of ours (who we thought would never know about these) told us about his grandmas recent flood cleanup. She had lots of things in her garage that were ruined by a few inches of water. Insurance paid a company to come in and remove all the things including a wwII jeep still on the bottom section of the crate. The friend said his grandpa told him while he was still living he had bought it cheap do to damage from jeep falling in shipment. (Bent springs and axles.)
I understand they had intentions for many years to make a hunting ride from it.
With grandpa gone and grandma and kids not knowing what the (old jeep) was worth, ..... Paid to be hauled off as scrap.
I am still trying to find out who the clean up crew was. Not much luck so far.

If you zoom in you can see the holes for the grab handles and the top bow mounts

If you look at the Jeeps in the background you'll see that they have grab handles on them. Obviously post assembly 'cause the wheels are on and driving them. Also, if you look under the right front fender you'll see a box which i assume has all kinds of cool parts in them.

Bob, do you have a "wheel" on your mouse?
If so, just press on the Ctl and turn the wheel forward.
