L-134 engine survey (We need your help)
Hello L-134 owner,
Please take a few moments to answer these questions about your jeep’s L134 engine. We are trying to refine our data base even more.
1-What is your engine’s serial number?
2-Engine Casting number (right lower side of block)(include all the letters)
3-Is there a oval serial space on the upper right front side behind oil filter?
4-Does the rear flange of the block have 4 or 10 bolt holes in the block flange? (Do not count the holes below the block in the steel plate.)
5-Does the right side of the block have 4 or 2 expansion plugs (freeze plugs)?
6-Is your timing mark on the flywheel or front crank pulley?
7-What are the numbers or letter found on the left lower rear side of the block by the oil pressure port?
8-Are there any rebuild tags fastened to your block? If so describe them.
9-What is the model and serial of the jeep the engine came in if known?
10-If WWII what is the build date on the bottom under the rear main cap?

answer
Maybe this will answer a question/solve a curiosity about the block I removed from my late '42 Ford:
It has the Letter K just right of the coil bracket (pics to follow).
1. GPW69800 (located on the flat above the water pump).
2. GPW-6015 (also, above this casting number is a big curley Ford F, like a hand stamp).
3.
4.
5. Four expanison plugs on the side and one on the rear.
6.
7.
8.
9. Frame Serial Number is GPW69800, No Tub serial number.
0.
I will fill in the blanks later......thanks!!!!
Note: Also, it has the number 7 just under the head gasket, centered on cylinder one, inward from the serial number.
PS.....While at the Dayton convention I found a Feb/Mar '42 Ford, five digit serial number, that had the symbol (s) 1 1 located in the same area as the K on my block; right of the coil bracket. All others that I
could check were smooth.
Again, THANKS

I got out to the garage this afternoon with the camera and took photos of the engine block. They show everthing clearly, but I do not know how to email or post.
My daughter will be home next weekend and we will post at that time.

I don't know much about my engine, besides that it's much newer than my jeep, an early 42 mb tub with GPW frame.
