front fender

Post by JeeperJim » Sun Oct 29, 2017 7:12 pm

Can anyone having a nice and perhaps installed front fender measure the top, horizontal surface front outboard to the inboard edge.
I am trying to figure out how much difference there is between a CJ2A and 3A width over the M38.

Thank you,
Jim

They are 10" even from the seam at the 45 degree bend to the outboard edge. Same as CJ2 and CJ2A and CJ3A. Other than holes, the big difference on M38 fenders is the passenger one that has a pushed out area next to the grille for battery box clearance.

Right; I have a CJ2A and an M38 sitting side by side right now; the tops of the fenders are identical except for the holes for accessories. Like BO drive and slave receptacle.

A M38 is just a "militarized" CJ3A - frame strengthened, military hardware and electrical system added, but basically still a CJ3A.

Dimensionally they are identical, the big differences are the aprons which are configured to the specific model Jeep installation, they all will bolt right up.
