M-38 cylinder head tap

Post by bazookajoe » Sun Oct 22, 2017 3:11 pm

Are all m-38 cylinder heads tapped in the front to tie into the water pump with the short rubber hose. I have a head without that water tap and was wondering if it was possibly for an m-38 or a cj2a.

As far as I know they had the bypass. The ORD 9 will confirm this for those who want to look up the head and the components of thr bypass. 800376 is the PN for M-38 Head. I seem to remember seeing heads without the bypass provision that have the 800376 casting number also.

All M38's had the water bypass from the prototype throughout production.
