Wiring Harness Wrap?

Post by Austringer » Sun Sep 24, 2017 4:11 pm

What type of material is used to wrap the wiring harness? I've tried electrical tape in the past and it looks great for about a week or so or until it gets a little warm then the glue seeps out and every little bit of dirt sticks to it. What is the material and where can I find it? Also need a good source of the correct wire, going to build a harness for my M56.

Thanks

You are using the wrong electrical tape; tape used in wrapping harnesses has no glue; it is dry, but sticks to itself by magic.
Correct wire; just buy a complete harness for an M35 and cut it up. There are some new ones on the market. I am making one for an M38 now.

I guess its not Joe anymore.....but Vintage Wiring of Maine sells the wrap.....and as stated earlier - it has no glue but kind f sticks to itself and makes a fine harness.....not expensive either....
