I brought home the '77 m151a2 today. I started making a check list of what all needs to be done. One thing I found was the horn button, the rubber top is very bad and the ring around it is rusted into place.
How do you remove the horn button for replacement? I couldn't find any information from past posts on this, maybe not looking in the right place I guess.
any help
Thanks

Re: horn button
Follow the wire from the end of the steering gear through the fender grommet. On the inside of the fender, disconnect the male/female Packard connectors. Once disconnected, remove the female end from the horn button wire. You do this by pushing the wire into the connector to expose the bayonet plug. Once the bayonet is exposed, you should see a "C" clip on the back of the bayonet. Slide off the slotted "C " clip, then pull the wire back out of the female connector. Dielectric grease will help. At the end of the steering gear box, there is a nylon shielded grommet that the wire passes through. Pry out this shield. At the horn button, remove the retainer ring securing the button to the steering wheel. Pry the button out of the steering wheel, pulling the wire with it. The new horn button should come with a new retainer ring, new nylon grommet and new female Packard connector. Reassemble in reverse.

No TM Pic's ? I thought you first dug into the horn button and found a C clamp to remove.
