m!%! clutch
Need some help, 1972 M151A@ driving at 40 miles an hour and the drive train locks up, think it is the clutch, do you have to pull the transmission and the clutch to repair the clutch, any ideas

Re: m!%! clutch
No access to clutch while it's in the vehicle, have to drop it or pull the entire pack (designed to do it that way anyway, only 4 bolts, couple of wires and fuel line the whole thing comes out with radiator intact, just remove the front grill)
You did not say if the engine is running (capable of turning over) or how it coasted to a stop(skid or rolled) or if the gear shift lever can move, these would assist in diagnosis, there should be nothing that "locks" the transmission from spinning if it's in neutral short of a transmission failure with components jamming the gears. Clutch could loose some facing, or breakup and hit the sides, but if the engine is still able to run, it didn't lock the transmission up.
You certain a differential didn't freeze up from lack of lube?

Re: m!%! clutch
hi
i dont think it is the clutch
the clutch can only couple and dis couple the engine from the drive train
if you think the clutch lockt up try this
engine off gear at fourth clutch pedal in if you pusch the MUTT and the engine turns it is the cluth
you can see the clutch if you take the steel cover at the bottom at the bell housing of
george
