Putting Smittybilt GEAR covers on right

I just thought i'd show this in case you guys are interested in more storage space.

Here are Smittybilt GEAR covers that i modified to fit my seats better. They are the Jeep Version (not the universal one) with the seat base. The way they come factory, they have velcro straps and using those straps the covers don't really fit our seats well at all. They're much too loose.

I cut off the straps and installed brass grommets all around and just laced it up. It fits the seat pretty well now.

I just used what i had laying around to do the work since I will be installing some darker tan okole seat covers under these to cover up and waterproof my grey seats. When i reinstall them, i'll use some P cord probably OD green in color to match my soft top and antennas.

Nope, I stopped looking and I'll be making my own much lighter weight one. I've been enjoying racing around in my truck so much lately because it's so light now that i don't look forward to weighting it down with another heavy top. The top i make will be very light weight. I just went on a 3 hour road trip this morning and my truck was comfortably going 70mph up hill! I don't want to lose that :D

Right on!
Will you go to camp delta this April in Lodi, ca for the MVCC meet?
How about this-I have seen a hmmwv that was sporting a soft top with a slantback...
Yes, a complete metal slantback kit with a soft top...
It might be easier to find a left and right sponsons and rear hatch, just a thought

I thought about it, but it's a "Hummer" so i didn't know if i'd just get a lot of "poser" comments. :) it still would be cool to go and see everyone's nice rigs.

I know where i could get the sponsons and hatch and if i could pick up those peices along with the turret assembly/b pillar cheap i'd probably consider it, but as it stands I'm loving the flexibility of this setup. I just picked up a 2man top and rear closeout panels, a rear cargo back for the 4 man top, and i snagged a civilian soft slantback kit which i was going to adapt to work with the HMMWV 4 man softtop. So by the end of the week i'll be able to switch between an open top, a 2-man top, a 4-man top, a soft wagon, or a soft slantback! All those with my soft doors. When i finish my removable hardtop, i'll be able to switch to a hard slantback with hard doors as well. It's like grown-up legos with these trucks!

Very cool looking rig too. Color is awesome. I like it better in softtop config. Nice Vette as well. Is that about a 65 or 66?

Thanks,
Freddie

Are you kidding; they would love to see your rig!
I brought mine up there a couple of times and they couldn't figure out whether or not mine was a hmmwv or a civi hummer...great crowd, met Kurt, brad, craig, David and a lot of other great people.
Plus, get to see a whole bunch of military vehicles, source military parts and other stuff... :P
