That is on the list. First I am thinking about installing a 4bt cummings with a 4L80 tranny.

Wow, what a transformation. The first fotos remind me of the Titanic, the only thing missing is that damaged crystal chandelier hanging in the darkness. The wagon is a pretty funcional configuration. I'm waiting for the prices of Dead Hummers to drop to five grand, before I get one to mess with.

ya,
i have seen only a handful of burnt up hummers on eBay...going for about $9000 to about as high as $15000 depending on how much damage there is. Most of the time it is fire damage that really melts away the body...but all is replaceable! just remove the rivets and re-rivet the panels or sections that are always ready available on eBay or other vendors.
another beautiful thing about doing it is that working on a Hummer is much easier than most cars...
i pretty much removed and replaced the front end on my hummer with basic everyday tools-except for the larger than normal socket to remove the front shocks-and all this in a dust bowl of a backyard that had chickens and spiders (Black widows) all over the place.
I learned a lot about hummers-especially how much more complicated a civilian Hummer is when compared to a Mil-spec hummer-a heck lot less wiring and BS interior components to deal with. Also, when i was gutting out the civilian Hummer, I saw how bad some maintenance practices of some dealership mechanics and aftermarket mechanics are!!
1. two inch body lift done-didn't reconnect parking brake or lower gas tank(tank was rubbing against rear drive shaft)
2. about 35 pounds of speaker was left hidden under the interior panels.
3. rear brake line that was installed correctly (twisted and broken in 3 places)
4. I also found 2 brand new pliers in the overhead panels just sitting there!
I can only assume that that is why the previous owner might have mysteriously had a strange electrical/engine fire-Hmm insurance fraud!?!
Well, good luck with your project when it starts...
