A "Model 0" is correct so far as it goes. But with a little change of the data plate who would know. Only those and the owner would have to live with the fact that "It just ain't right". Maybe the "jeep police" will catch them in the act. BUSTED. . .
Maybe I'll take mine off and place it in the vault and maybe Jon can do the same. Maybe Chuckie as well.
Let the buyer beware.
Cheers

Gotta agree Paulie..... US$400.00 for an incorrect siren is way over the top.
Considering I paid..... as you know.... US$125.00 for mine off Ebait even...
People should realize that when they go looking for sirens, they should forget about typing in MB GPW and go for just Siren or old Police siren as most sellers don't know what they have....
A Coat of OD makes the world of difference..(that and a magical hand of a good mate... ) ..and Ed Menees had the correct switch which incidentally arrived just this morning.....new pic below......

I hope you got all that confetti out while testing out the unit. Hehehe
The base had to be filled in as a cutout/gouge for wire was evident and not correct.
BTW the fuel and Oil faces are in place and looking sweet. Now for the temp will send ya pic's(along with the other ones). Been slakking off I guess. Latest project(among others) Tyre chains.
Cheers

Re: Siren Location
Hi. Sorry if this is not the correct area to post my question. I have an M38A1 and a 1950's military siren (nato). Do i have to place relay to connect it? or just a heavy duty press button? I don't know the amps that it uses to work. Thanks

Re: Siren Location
I thought I had seen as, an alternate location, a special bracket that allowed the siren to be mounted using the front bumper bolts. That would allso keep it off the passenger fender, still be seen and heard.
I think the siren, like machine guns, were on very few actual jeeps, percentage wise, but on almost every parade ready re enactor jeep, along with the wire cutter.
I have a vintage 6v siren on my GPW, but it is not period correct, so it is mounted on the starter splash shield under the air cleaner and no one knows it is there until I press the button hidden in the glove box. Neighbors love it.

Re: Siren Location
You must have added support brackets to the splash shield for that piece of metal in my opinion would not be able to hold a siren.

Re: Siren Location
Just a reminder here....if you check the parts manuals, there is no such thing as a "starter splash shield". There is however, an "air cleaner splash shield" installed on the frame.

Hey, just happen to be passing through from the HMMWV board. I have a buddy in Australia who managed to get a permit to display replica firearms which allows him to mount a replica weapon on his gunmount. Not sure which department to contact but it's definitely possible.Jon wrote: ↑Thu Aug 09, 2007 3:35 pmIn the Australia Army some Military Police had them also....albeit not your standard Federal Brand....
As for what I'll put on mine....better to have a siren than a M31/M31C mount which I can't put a weapon on....Thank you Australian Gum'mint.... A/holes...
Mine will be a MP jeep as used by Australian Forces in PNG.
