Hi All,

Last week a friend of mine found me a Ford Tub and Fenders.....got them for free! :P

Tub is resting as you can see in it's proper location ---Now you can get a good idea of how far I will have extend.

Right now it looks like one of those "Sled Pulling Rigs"

What was the purpose of a streached jeep?

Hi Sean,

The Army Airforce and the Coast Guard had strecthed them......AAF would use them for maybe a "Flightline Jeep" 8 passengers (a crew) all at one time.....no need for two jeeps out on the runway!

The Coast Guard version was a 10 passenger jeep.....

If you have any of the jeeps books you will see various versions in them !

Hi Patton,

Strictly a field Modification......The GI's would have a little time on their hands and a couple recked jeeps and presto.....a strecthed jeep appears a few hours/days later !!! :)
