Don't know why my whole message did not post on the last one but here is all the text.
So here is what I did to make some more power. .030 over bore on the block, counterweighted crank with a gear drive cam,full port job on the intake and exhaust side, this includes turning down the tops of the valve guides as they take up a lot of port room. Three angel valve job on face and seats with a forth angle cut on the head of the valve to improve flow. Late model 7.0 compression head cut to give 7.8 to 1. ported F-head exhaust manifold with 1 7/8 exhaust all the way out. Dual YF cabs on a manifold I built. Paper air filter in stock assembly. Motor also has full flow oil filter, all the oil leaves the block goes through a hidden spin on filter and back into the block. Motor runs strong, acceleration is better but it is the torque that is way improved. on hard pulls the power doesn't fall off like a stock 134.

Sounds like awesome work, and what I'd do too, along with the alum head.
So far I'm prioritizing getting the jeep back together and working, then I'll start work on this project.

Our second semester group project will be concerned with fitting a higher compression head on my jeep engine. I've obtained a ribbed iron head for $35 shipped with a little gasket surface erosion that will get milled off anyway. This head will be used for testing for the project, and afterwards cut up for casting work on the aluminum head.

Calculations so far show that to achieve 8:1 compression, I would have to shave a stock head 0.11".

I did know about those two, but I was wondering, since Offy made heads for the Ford V-8, might they also have made them for the Go-Devil. My first Jeep had a Buick V-6 with an Offy adapter between the T-90 and the Buick bellhousing. I think it would be cool to have an Offy aluminum head, if possible.

I shaved a rusty and pitted stock 800376 head 2.5 mm (roughly 0.1") and achieved 7.84:1 compression. For testing purposes nothing has been changed on the engine apart from this. The car was dynoed before the change (40 HP and 55 Nm), and will be dynoed with this new head as well. After this dyno run it will be given a tune-up to see how much timing it will take.

40 HP at the rear wheels was exactly what my GPW put out with the stock engine! It will be interesting to see how much better it does with the milled stock head. The 8-1 Chuchua/Hickey head added 7 hp and 20lbs/ft. torque over stock on mine.

Mine was 23 hp on the wheels and 40 on the engine.
