Ole, the Norwegian 1944 Willys MB

Image
Will Johnson sent me some pictures of his jeep as released by the Norwegian Army. Looks pretty cool as is. If it were mine I would keep it just like it is.

You can see all the pictures at Ole, the Norwegian MB.

Somewhere over the 17 pages of pictures there's some closeups of the tires and rims. If memory serves, I believe they are combat wheels...but I could be wrong.

A lot of the jeeps sold from the Norwegian Army had their "combat" wheels replaced with CJ wheels.

Hey!!!, according to the guy who sold me my MB it was in service in the Norwaygian army until mid 70's. When he bought it, she came with a funny chassis number JHVK072. Any idea from you guys in the north???

Thanks a lot

JHVK072
I am not sure if this is 100% correct, but this is the way I have been "reading" this number.
J= jeep
H= Hæren= Army
V= Våpen teknisk = Technical Section
K= Korps = Department

A lot of jeeps was "rebuild" buy the Norwegian Army and if they could not "find" the number they gave them a new one.

Many thanks for your help Frank!!
I looked at Will's pictures and I recognize a couple of mod's I have also on my ex Norwegian MB.

But on my MB the rear panel was cut off and something heavy was bolted into the frame, what for? I don't know...

A few of the jeeps where modified with extra rear coil springs and racks for the "recoiless" gun. Late windshield +++. Send me some pictures of your jeep and I will try find out what kind of mods you have.

I have some pictures of the LAST WWII jeep sold from the Norwegian Army. That jeep have all those mods. :cry:
