Very nicely done Seacon. I bet it feels great just test fitting the tub back on the frame! :)

You were close by! Six miles then instead of 6,000 miles now!

Orinda is all good, though as you know lots of steep, hills, makes you double and triple check the brake work

Collecting parts. Thanks to friends, eBay's auctions, scrap and surplus dealers all over the place, I was able to collect a lot of the missing parts I needed to complete this restoration.

Parts collecting and repair "Do it yourself" a WWII British Airborne Jeep...

Post by seacon » Sun May 27, 2018 12:47 am

In the meantime I have been working on a bunch of little side projects:
Once completed the ammo bundles restoration, I had the transmission rebuilt and started going after all the little things that will make the difference... These include restored originals, fitting of exact high quality repro parts and some more archival research to prevent major historical screw ups... Everything is held together by hundreds of original or correct size SAE bolts and hardware, which is an accomplishment by itself, being in Europe.

FINISHING THE FRAME "Do it yourself" a WWII British Airborne Jeep...

Post by seacon » Sun May 27, 2018 1:15 am

Just to recap what went on:
Repaired and test fitted everything.

Riveted all the parts back in place, checked, checked and checked again. Still, there is something that is not quite right. Trying to get everything OD before summer comes.
