Remember the Tow Rope Stowage?

Remember this GI modifcation for stowing the tow rope. Great idea to protect your rope.

Well, Terry from Indiana has allowed me to post a picture of his jeep with the very same tow rope holder.

thanks for that pic.....it looks as tho his driver side tire is a bit outa line.......are most jeeps like that.......i think mine looks like that too......? mario 45mb(COOKIE)

IF the steering is point straight ahead the wheels should be "toe-in". It's not by much, maybe a 1/16inch. I just take my jeep to the pros and have them set it up...last time I tried, it looked okay to me but was WAY out of line according to the machine.

Bob-Terry must like mods as he also has extra hold down hooks for the hood.

Nice, but he's got the wrong rope. Not 1". The rope needs to be stronge enough to pull a jeep out of trouble. That rope won't even safely pull a jeep.

Very astute observations gentlemen. Of course the extra hold downs were a wartime mod to help keep the hinge from cracking and cut down on hood vibration.

Yes, the rope is way too small to be other than a decoration....of course that's what most of us will use the 1 inch rope for too.

thats a wartime mod....i saw it on bill mauldin's jeep ...jeanie.....

i like it...as the hood doesnt vibrate....
