Nice stuff.

What's the difference between the 6v and the 12v pulley ?
I thought they were the same but the 6v pulley looks smaller.

Taking this one to Aberdeen MD show next week for sale, would like $1200 delivered there won't consider mailing it until after the show purchase opportunity. If you want someone to pick it up for you I will give it to them. It's a WWII Braden J2-134 model, missing the top cap.
I was going to paint it, but the condition is sound, it turns freely.

Just for you to know:

Wildenberg sold a complete capstan winch field kit (most of the assembly parts were repros of his own production though) for 4700 british pounds, which is about 6100 USD.
The winch kit was sold at the W&P show in Great Britain.

I am sure this has been asked before but..

What is the going price right now for a complete working Capstan setup for a jeep in the US? This would be for a very nice working unit, with confirmation that it works, including everything but the heavy front springs.

I have a bad scan of where the rope was tied to the passenger fender using 6 footman loops.
I can see roughly where the loops should be fixed but can’t read the dimensions.
Although I could guess I’d rather do it properly.
Has anyone else added the footman loops to their jeep and could give me the correct positioning ?
And how long were the webbing straps ?

I now have all my winch parts and should be fitting it on soon !

Thanks

Just a word of advice, if it's only seen on a modern restoration (or Post-War photo), that does not make it the actual method of stowage for the rope.
If you see a photo from 1944/45 or so of footman loops holding a rope on a fender I would be willing to say "ok" to the location, rather than 'Gee that's a neat place that guy decided to stow his rope on his restoration' VS under the rear seat or wrapped around the front bumper, etc.
Do the Capstan Winch instructions cover where the rope is stowed? I'm sure someone has those instructions reprinted and on-line.
