Search is not working

Postby Mark Tombleson » Tue May 01, 2012 6:38 pm

For the last few days the search funtion has been real buggy saying Search is not available and to try later.

Information

Sorry but you cannot use search at this time. Please try again in a few minutes.

This is when I try to "view your posts" or "view new posts."

It does not seem to matter how long I wait.... it is either hit or miss.

You should know this is how I view G503.

What is up with that?

Fix it please. :(

It's not just the search function.

When I log on to view "new posts" it considers that a search and times out. That's why I post so infrequently.

Me too Mark... I'll ask Ron to see if the Guru's can have a look at that.

Thank you Jon...

"Search" of any kind or "New Posts" is still not working during the day... but late at night it seems to work. Could this be some type of issue that has to do with how much traffic there is on the board?

This is really cramping my style.

No idea Mark, I'm not privy to the workings of the Gee. I reported it to the main man, it's working so far this morning, but yesterday it got so bad I gave up and painted the front patio...sheezzzzzz. now we know what it takes to get me up off my arse and do something......

We're looking into it and are trying to make some effective adjustments to improve its performance. Thanks.

Nice.
well at least you found a workaround using Google.

our software seems to be searching entire threads for keyword matchs instead of just posts.
The post you were looking for was in there. just couldn't find it in the pile of thousands of returns.

this may require more thought.

REG,
I added a google search option under "Advanced search"
What do you think? does this make it easier?
